The situation is that at every point, the *estimated time* of the car reaching its destination is constant (without loss of generality, 1 hour). If we are at x, and the destination is 0, then we have: dx/dt = -x 1/x dx = -1 dt ln(x) = constant - t ln(x) = ln(x0) - t x = x0 exp(-t) x0 is the initial position of the car, when t = 0.
