My Hungarian boss has appeared and all is clear. There is, most exceptionally, not only one, but two, typos. Liss is not a Hungarian name. Kiss is, being that, not only of my neurosurgeon, but also of my boss's grandfather. Pronounced `Kish', by the way. The other typo comes from the stutter G\''eza, which puts an accent on the (second) apostrophe. This should have been G\'eza, i.e., G Eacute Z A. The curiosity is that the entry comes up, whether you search on `Liss' or on `Kiss' -- presumably MR have spotted the typo, and put in an alias. R. On Sat, 14 Feb 2004, Richard Guy wrote:

But the amazing thing is: when I search MathSciNet with Liss I get 3 hits: a William J. Liss, an Elizabeth D. Liss and the following, which agrees with the CMP entry in all but the K.
