APG: Your universe sounds incredibly boring and nihilistic. I'll continue working in the von Neumann universe instead...
--Indeed, if Conway's "life" were the rules of the universe (pseudo-physical laws) then the max amount of time before some N-particle configuration vanished (if it ever vanished) would be, like the "busy beaver number," a function growing faster than any computable function of N. And apparently APG spends a goodly amount of his time in the Conway Life universe...
