This might make an interesting wall design for a public space ...
Here are more nearly equilateral cases, inscribable in a square (http://gosper.org/p10degrb.png) and neatly in a golden rectangle (http://gosper.org/p10e1.png). The latter, at least is a frac-11-tile likely to have a neat spacefill, analogous to Mandelbrot's fill of the Snowflake as a frac-13. --rwg
Gack, no! I don't think these are fac-tiles. A spacefill would require a simultaneous recursion, roughly star = star + 5 arms, arm = star + arm.
Very effective colour scheme on the square-based example!
Thanks! How about http://gosper.org/p10degbr.png ? (If you can't paint good, paint big.) --rwg
I do find this sort of thing more satisfying than the efforts of some abstract figurative artists, who seem to have some similar target in view, but lack the geometrical expertise to hit it accurately.
