[math-fun] Etymology of "Sudanese Möbius Band"

The Möbius band with circular boundary discussed here recently is apparently (I learned the day before yesterday) called the Sudanese Möbius band with "Sudanese" being a composite of the first names of Sue Goodman and Daniel Asimov (see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M%C3%B6bius_strip#M%C3%B6bius_band_with_round_... ) I was just wondering if this is the same Dan Asimov who used to post to math-fun quite often?
