[math-fun] Re: galois fields, 2-var polynomials

I think what I described is a commutative ring. Are there irreducible polynomials in two variables that would give a representation of GF(p^nm)? Or are rings the only thing you can get out of a construct like that? -- Mike Stay staym@clear.net.nz
