Exactly. E.g., for p=4, Out[1745]= 1/4 Cot[(k \[Pi])/4] Sin[k \[Pi]]

In[1746]:= Table[Limit[%, k -> n], {n, 0, 8}]

Out[1746]= {1, 0, 0, 0, 1, 0, 0, 0, 1}

(which certainly isn't identically 0). ... ... In any event, the following is definitely wrong:

Out[1500]= Cot[(\[Pi] x)/3] Sin[\[Pi] x]

In[1501]:= Assuming[n \[Element] Integers, Limit[%, x -> n]]

Out[1501]= 0

In[1502]:= Limit[%%, x -> 3]

Out[1502]= -3
