Dear Fellow Funsters,
Normally, if possible, my e-address doesn't need to be on the recipients' e-address list if math-fun already is -- as has happened innumerable times in response to something I've posted. If you can spare the split-second needed to help me avoid receiving duplicate postings, I'd greatly appreciate it.
This does not happen to me, so I suspect this particular problem may be generated in your own mail program --- you may be able to cure it by changing an appropriate option to prevent your name appearing in one of the reply fields.
Very recently, however, math-fun has been listed twice as an addressee, with the expected duplicate results.
E.g., a very recent post has this addressee header:
<< To: math-fun <math-fun@mailman.xmission.com> Cc: math-fun <math-fun@mailman.xmission.com>
Surely we can avoid this kind of thing if we just take a peek at who the addressees are before hitting Send.
Similar problem with the replier's mailer options. But while we're on this topic, some contributors' replies display a (deliberately) altered subject line. Mailers which sort into threads by subject line are unable to file such replies with the remainder, which costs extra screen space in the index and hinders retrieval. [It would be gratuitous to name any particular offender in this respect.] WFL
