Me too, except that it's my favorite proof too. That's probably the computer scientist in me peeking out. The professor who taught the proof to me (for half a semester, line by line, in a philosophy of mathematics course) liked to say that if he was the type to get a vanity license plate, his would say "17 GEN R".
