In 2 dimensions, a direct search for 6-vertex configurations became tedious at around edge-length 12; in contrast, gluing together pairs of (previously computed) 5-vertex cases was good for edge 32 --- and struck oil! It could well be that an "intelligent" construction, similar to that of the planar ambiguous case, is the way to go in 3-D. So --- any ideas, anybody? Fred Lunnon
