Clearly the plain text digests /are/ an issue. You can get better digests by going to: http://mailman.xmission.com/cgi-bin/mailman/options/math-fun logging in and selecting MIME digests (3rd question). Then each mail in the digest will have mime headers and will specify its own charset et all. Alpine should support mime digests w/o difficulty, although there were some MIME bugs in alpine versions before 0.83 (2007) or so. One of Warren's recent posts suggests that he also uses digest mode, so that is probably also why he sees non-8859-1 text munged. Bill's posts are correct in the archives: http://mailman.xmission.com/cgi-bin/mailman/private/math-fun/ http://mailman.xmission.com/cgi-bin/mailman/private/math-fun.mbox/math-fun.m... -JimC -- James Cloos <cloos@jhcloos.com> OpenPGP: 1024D/ED7DAEA6
