There's also a link to just download/view the blob picture alone.
Does anyone have any ideas about how one could mechanically implement bugs and rotor-routers, in a fashion suitable for a classroom demo or a science museum display? (Hal Canary and Francis Wong created a software implementation of some of the variations; you can find an outdated version of the "1.0" release of their applet at http://www.math.wisc.edu/~propp/rotor-router-1.0/ . To play with the goldbug, click "The Applet", change "1-D Aggregation" to "1-D Walk", and click on "Paused (Press to Resume)".) Jim Propp
