Hello Friends. I do'nt know where to ask this question, but I guess (and I know) there are fans on this list of analogue synths etc, like I am myself. I'd like to know what do you think of the Vermona Perfourmer analogue synth. I'm thinking of buying one , but it's quite expensive compared to other stuff you can get for the same price, sure, it's not the same price as an Access Virus C or similar, but it's also not the same technology. btw. do you know where I could find something on the net which demonstrate the sound of the Perfourmer, there are no shop here in France which can demonstrate it. Thanks. Arnaud

Who asks about meeeee?
I'd like to know what do you think of the Vermona Perfourmer analogue synth.
Disclaimer: I worked for the french distributor, I know the Vermona guys, I'm collaborating on other projects of the french distributor: MESI/Eowave. Awesome but not for the average amateur. It has lots of limitations (like lack of PWM) but a unique structure. If you know enough synthesis to work on the limits it's a very very fun box. It's a striped down max out MARS under acid multiplied by 4.
I'm thinking of buying one,
Good idea if you're really into synthesis, if you don't really program, look out elsewhere.
but it's quite expensive compared to other stuff you can get for the same price,
Actually, it's four monosynth that can be combined in a twisted way. It may look expensive, but you just can't build analogue for cheap. Also Vermona is building rock solid, it's not a stupid pastic box and electronic circuits are well done. You pay what it's worth.

Definetly. The Virus as much more possibilities but the perfourmer can go in a very different direction. If you need a versatile analogue, look for the MARS (though it's a mild cold analogue mono synth, sounds very "german electro"), if you look for polyphony, possibilities and VA doesn't shock you go Virus, if you need a synth with a twist but not the common lot (that is it's not the first synth you buy): perfourmer (same sound quality as the MARS) DSP based VA will always be way less expensive regarding function/possibilities/price than a real analogue. But there's a sound question after that. The Virus sounds good to me, I just don't relate to what it does and how. I'm a pure analogue freak. I have digital synths but for things analogue can't do. I'd buy gladly the perfourmer myself but I'm spoiled of synths already and if it's a beast I find interesting, it's just not for everyone. I don't have the money at the moment too ;)

On the Vermona site, on the MESI.fr site and on http://www.sequencer.de/english/ follow Vermona MESI in Ivry should be have it in exhibition. They have some house building on the way at the moment so I don't know if it's out of the box as it's usually the case. As I will go see them this week I'll be able to tell you so. BTW, the French from Analogue Heaven are about to have a small casual meeting around a drink or two, you're welcome :) (date not fixed already) Denis =G)
