yes , it SHOULD be , but VERY_OFTEN it ISN'T_!!! :-/
the producer (or engineer) has done a bad job if the master has to be corrected again for the disc cutting.
... but that's jus' what happens LOTS of times & why such "corrections" are simply necessary in some cases to even make "the final cut" from master to disc ( fyi : vinyl from metal master & cd from glass master ) then !!! however ... many greetinx , oh jay ;-) *~\^/~*

if you would ask a mastering engineer, he probably will tell you, that in most cases the producer simply can't stop. the *good* producer knows what he's looking for and how to record it. that's what a producer is there for. so if the mastering is done, he should be able to give his blessing to it.
