KW Live at Electraglide 2002 & Zepp Osaka
Hi, there! I went to Kraftwerk's gigs at Electraglide 2002 in Tokyo and Zepp Osaka. I was really excited with the gigs!! I think the song list is almost the same as Paris concert, the tracks which made us hot came first and after that it's gradually cooling down. At Electraglide, the live started not with the voice that says "Meine Damen und Herren...," but saying "Nihon no minasan..." in Japanese. At Zepp Osaka, when somebody shouted "Guten Abend!," I heard Ralf replied "Guten Abend." They looked somewhat relaxedduring the time. Usually they stand still and never moves, but in Osaka live, Florian sometimes looked other way. He put his hand backwhen he didn't operate the Laptop PC (as always he does.) The sound is slightly different from the live in Tokyo in 1998. "Expo 2000 mix" was so nice that I almost tripped. I thought it was the mixture of Expo 2000 and Airwave, but I seemed to be wrong. "Radioactivity" started with its old 70's version and then changed to 90's version, that was good. I couldn't find if they were using Cubase or other synth software or other keyboards, but only Laptop PC's were on the stage. At Electraglide live, I saw some people taking photos with their mobilephones with the functions of digital camera. Unfortunately I couldn't because I didn't have that kind of mobile phone. By the way, rhodri wrote:
It was clear that some Japanese people are very territorial, and, did not want to share their space. Unlike U.S. audiences in 1998,
I am the one who is "territorial." Actually, however, 3 people from other country squeezed their way forward and made noise without listening to KW's songs. They were even talking about Square Pusher! So I squeezed myself into them because I thought such people shouldn't be here if they don't want to listen to Kraftwerk
it was also clear that this was not the sort of audience that wants to chat with foreigeners, a kinda of a shame.
I agree with you. On the other hand, Osaka live is so quiet for me. It seemed that the audience listened the songs carefully. Anyway I really enjoyed the gigs. And Kraftwerk is the Techno God! They are on the flight to Germany now...?
A 1h34min recording is rolling into my FTP right now.. just 3 days after the gig :) Viva internet!! /twingo (and a .mov file with a video-track-scan of Osaka is also already available thx to Technopop)

Over 20 years have passed since Kraftwerk last toured Australia. During the 70s legendary German group Kraftwerk established the sonic blueprint followed by an extraordinary number of artists in the decades to come.
You can catch Kraftwerk at the Big Day Out (with two additional gigs in Sydney and Melbourne)!
Coinciding with their tour, we will be releasing newly repackaged albums from Kraftwerk on 20 January 2003. Exclusive to Australia only, the albums are Trans-Europe Express, Computer World, The Man Machine and Radio-Activity.
