The other day re-listening to my Telex records I found a song entitled "Peanuts" which reminds me alot of Elektric Music's "Lifestyle". I am sure Bartos did get the idea of 'sample vowels' (you know the "aaah, eeeh, brrr, faaa, mmm, laarrr, feuugh, sss, crrr, jouugh") from this track. In addition Elektric Music's "TV" single cover is pretty close to the cover of Telex's "Twist A Saint Tropez" album. http://www.telex.be DER AUTOMAT ®

Mmm, if you play around with the basic ingredients of electronic music, sounds, speech, and in this case phonemes, you pretty quickly end up with things like this. The wheel is invented more than once, also in electronic music.

Not terribly surprising, as both are the testbild of colour transmissions :) Rick Jansen -- Web: http://www.euronet.nl/~rja/ email: rja@euronet.nl Any spam mail sent to me results in counter measures.

Yes... I'd go along whole heatedly with that.... there's a 4 CD box set "Belgium One Point" which is well worth getting... it has most of their back catalogue including some little extras... and on top of everything else they played in the Eurovision song contest!!!!... I was amazed when they did that... as amazed as I would be if Kraftwerk were to be seen on the show.... no.... the didn't do very well.... but then I don't think that the audience / judges knew what was going on! *he he* Keep Werking John www.keepwerking.co.uk
true, unforntuatly none of the original 12" mix of Telex are available on CD, so as a fan, you have to buy the original 12" records but they are worth having, especially the 12" for 'Temporary chicken', 'Peanutz' and 'L'amour toujours' On Tue, 14 May 2002 22:13:14 +0100, John Shilcock wrote:
