Hello to all, We think this is really a problem to sites who try to maintain video and MP3 to download and streaming. We have the same problem of our friend Gäel, we have an structure limited, and the demand of fans is unproportional. Everyday we receive emails with claims about difficulties about video & audio downloads from our server. But the fact is: a fast and effective structure of access is very, very expensive, only enterprises can pay 2.500 dollars by month for a adjusted structure. We know the problem with Free.fr: the truth is that the traffic of Gäel site grows too much, and this kind of free services shows your true face in this hours, when you really need them, the service is garbage. There is not a really GOOD service of hostage for free, if you really know one, please send the address to us, because we want it too. But we must help all the fans who try to dispose material to free download , because is interest of all. Here at Brasil, we don't have a good service of free hostage. Does anybody knows one? Hi! Why not use ICQ? It's easy to install and you can restrict people from downloading files if u want to. You can set up a user list and any body who wants to share has to apply for admittance first. I personally don't like the idea of setting up a separate network because i have ICQ, Kazaa, Soulseeker on my system and wouldn't like to have another filesharing software. But... is sharing really what Gael wants? He has put a lot of work in his website and i don't think that he did all the work just to be able to offer any body a easy download. A tip to any body who is looking for KW-Files: get yourself "soulseeker". There are hundreds of files, many complete concerts. Cheers Roman

if enough people are interested, we could create a KW Peer to Peer exchange system, using the Direct Connect software for example.

I would choose Direct Connect because you can create your own hub with the software itself.

If at least 4 or 5 people from this list have a DSL connection and want to share KW material, this could be a great idea.

With respect to the problem of hosting files related to the recent concerts, I propose a low-tech solution. Why can't those of us with websites each host a small portion of the files? If we get enough people on board, the individual bandwidth requirement should be small. I believe I can get away with hosting a few MP3s or perhaps a video. If storage is still a problem we could rotate material once a month. Another alternative is Usenet. If there were an appropriate newsgroup to post Kraftwerk binaries, whoever has them could post them once or twice and we all could get copies without costing that person proportional bandwidth. Unfortunately I don't know of a single newsgroup where all the material would be appropriate. The video, pictures and music would each have to go to a seperate newsgroup. The sad fact of the matter is that bandwidth is expensive. I've been compiling a large collection of Kraftwerk media files, but I don't expect to be able to put it online until I can afford a dedicated, private Internet connection. I think that forming our own private, temporary peer-to-peer network to exchange the files is the most efficient solution, but I don't know how to do it.
