The "Tour De France Soundtracks" album sold in Sweden is "Copy Controlled" with a sticker on the front, and "Copy Controlled printing" on the back. Also, the CD has the "Copy Controlled logo" printed on it. (CD made by "EMI UDEN") Does this apply to the CD´s sold elsewhere, or is the album available without "Copy Controlled" ? //Henrik
Both the single and the album in the UK are not copy controlled. I have refused to buy anything from now on, that IS copy controlled. I enjoy playing CD's on my PC as do many people who use their computer as an all round entertainment device. The record industry may wake up one day and realise that it's bad music and high prices that's killing the industry. Had to get that off my chest while we are on the subject :-) Shaun ----- Original Message ----- From: henrik.olsson@equant.com To: Kraftwerk@mailman.xmission.com Sent: Wednesday, August 06, 2003 2:22 PM Subject: [Kraftwerk] "Copy Controlled" album ? I can't make a digital (optical) copy on my minidisc from this album. A bit angry... Georgie ===> "It had been a wonderful evening and what I needed now, to give it the perfect ending, was a little of the Ludwig Van." ( Alex / 'A Clockwork Orange" )
I make a (1:1) copy for my walkman, works flawless... oink ----- Original Message ----- From: "Georg Jajus" <Georgie@blackbox.net> To: "Music, non-stop." <kraftwerk@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Wednesday, August 06, 2003 11:14 PM Subject: [Kraftwerk] Re: "Copy Controlled" album ?

I was recently informed that the label for these new KW releases (I don't know the name) is an RIAA member. Can anyone confirm or deny? I'd be so torn if that was true. On the one hand I love Kraftwerk and want to give them my money. On the other hand I loathe the RIAA and don't want them to receive a cent of my money. Oh, what to do? -- /* Soleil */

Duh--it's an EMI subsidiary, one of the 5 majors! Not to be obnoxious, but OF COURSE the major labels are RIAA members! Peace.
I wouldn't know. I don't normally pay any attention to who the middleman is. It's the advent of monsters like the RIAA that are finally forcing me to get political. -- /* Soleil */

The RIAA has been around since the beginning of the American music industry. Peace.
They've only come to my attention in the last couple of years, and I gather that they've only really started to show their evil in the last few years too. -- /* Soleil */
Copy Control means no saving at all to the hard drive? to i Tunes as mp3? No way around this? I'm intrigued. amir Shaun Vaughan wrote:

There are always ways... Copy control systems are stupid and only serve to make the end product more expensive for a prospective buyer. I had no problems making mp3s (please note, for my own personal use) of my cd. / Petter ----- Original Message ----- From: "Amir Rahim" <webmaster@slystone.com> To: "Shaun Vaughan" <sv@creative-genius.fsnet.co.uk>; "Music, non-stop." <kraftwerk@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Thursday, August 07, 2003 1:49 PM Subject: Re: [Kraftwerk] "Copy Controlled" album ?
