why 35 minutes? IF they release another disc, i hope it will be a double-cd with multimedia's.... or how do you explain, working for over 11 years on ONE album???? *rotflol*
Their longest album(s) of new material in their entire back catalogue is 42 minutes (Autobahn, Trans Europe Express). I don't mind a short album, it is good to listen all the way through and the emphasis is on quality. I cannot believe they might have spent 11 years on one album. They are playing with us. Now ask me how they play with us. Rob _________________________________________________________________ Send and receive Hotmail on your mobile device: http://mobile.msn.com
I found "Tour De France" on Napster, last year but I haven't been able to find that CD. Is it out of print? I've found a new appreciation of "Techno Pop" from "Electric Cafe". I've been playing it in my truck Peace!

Peace!
TdF was released as the first single to Kraftwerk's 1983 album, "Technopop" Then Ralf got into a serious biking accident, and they had to delay the album. Then Ralf didn't like where Technopop was going, and they decided to devote time to upgrading Kling Klang studios from analog to digital. They re-did some of the tracks of the "Technopop" album in digital ("Techno Pop", "Sex Object" are the only ones publicly known), and released it in 1986 as "Electric Cafe". Tour de France was supposed to be on the "Technopop" album, but it never saw light of day (Really close though...) It wasn't re-done in digital for Electric Cafe either... In the late 1990's Kraftwerk released a single version of it...thats the only official album you can get it. I suggest listening to the leaked Technopop demos (Sex Object and Techno Pop), if you havent already...I enjoy them a bit more than the Electric Cafe versions... There's your information... Tour De France is on a "Free To Be" compilation ( a series of dance club CD's that celebrates a Gay Lifestyle in the liner notes) by a group that says "10 Speed" but the song is actually the real dealio. Hello, I am sure you guys know it already, but if someone doesnt, Karl Bartos is working on a new album now. And there will probably be a tour in the spring of 2003. Just though I would mention it for the record. Glenn

It was not followed by an album? I didnt know that. Not a big Bartos follower myself, unless he makes another album like Esperanto. The news came from his management. Glenn

That's not a question of age...the Rolling Stones e.g. are still touring (and don't forget Buena Vista Social Club - they were in their 70ies playing in the New York Radio City Hall). No, maybe Kraftwerk are just / still working on their "conceptionally new concerts", as Ralf Huetter mentioned in an 1998 (!) interview...and some time, "real" robots (Mechas) will replace them. BTW, try this "Pocket Calculator": http://www.crazyhorsemen.com/secret/org-calc/org-calc.swf ;-) Gruesse aus Wien, Georgie

The tickets for the laatest Stones Tour aren't selling as fast as expected here in the States. If those California Raisins can dance all over the stage, actually only Mick Jagger, then Kraftwerk can stand and compute for 3 hours. Or design cool, electronic barstools to sit on. They cancelled a show in a local skating rink here in DC in the early 90's (or late 80's?). peace, amir "www.network81.com" wrote:

I suggest you check out Bartos's first album "Esperanto" it follows the Kraftwerk style for the most part...My favorite tracks off that album include: "TV", "Show Business", "Lifestyle", "Esperanto", and "Cross Talk". If your going to check them out by downloading, you should also know the music is under the name Elektric Music, but I suppose you'd find most of them under Bartos's name. The second album by Bartos (Which he had changed the artist name from Elektric Music to Electric Music) is more pop, with few electronic elements thrown in...more guitars than synthesizers...while the album is nice to listen to if your a bit depressed, it doesnt really cut it for most Kraftwerk fans in seek of an alternative.
I know Ralf is the creative genius, on my favorite KW tunes anyway.
Some of Kraftwerk's greatest werks were written by Bartos (Who wrote a large amount on The Man Machine and Computer World albums)...must be a big fan of TEE or Electic Cafe...most people like the werks off of TMM and CW the most than any others... Signed, omegaChance http://www.mp3.com/omegaChance
