Re: [Kraftwerk] Giorgio Moroder on Kraftwerk

Very interesting... I've never read anyone suggesting that "Man Machine" and late 70s Kraftwerk in general should have copied Giorgio Moroder before.
That's probably because you haven't read a few posts about this subject a while ago.
When listening to "From Here to Eternity" from 77, there are definitely a lot of the same sounds and similar production as on especially "Spacelab" and "Metropolis", even though Giorgio always kept a bit more of a disco element in there.
Agree completely. I have repeatedly said (in one way or the other) that Moroder's "From Here to Eternity" has close ties (maybe too close for comfort for a few KW fans) with two Kraftwerk albums that came up after FHTE: The Man Machine and Computer World. Even the intro of TMM's "Metropolis" has been linked to that of the later Summer's / Moroder's "I Feel Love". FHTE and "I Feel Love" were truly groundbreaking records. FYI, this subject died suddenly when a few members wouldn't even give Moroder's music respect due to his inability of keep making good music (in all honesty, most of his late stuff is really uninteresting).
Does anyone know which came out first, "From Here to Eternity" or TEE? And what about "I Feel Love" by the way? Did that precede TEE.
TEE was first. E

OK, sorry, I only joined the list about a month ago so I wasn't aware of that. Maybe I should go and have a look in the archives... Erik
