Richard, I think it was, went:
Anyway, if you're prepared to make the effort to go all that way to see them, you shouldn't miss a trip to Vinyl, the collector's shop in
Shinjuku district. There are several Vinyl stores there, each covering a >different <range of music, but you'll find a lot of admittedly expensive KW <collector's items in the electro & Krautrock shop at Vinyl Japan #1 (open 12:00->21:00 no holidays; phone 3365-0910; Nishi-Shinjuku 7-4-9).
I was there in May of last year. I saw the German original Autobahn LP signed by all four - that would be Klaus Roeder, not Karl. I'm not saying it wasn't worth the 400 Euros (!) they wanted for it, but I sure didn't have the money. In fact, Japan is a real mecca for a rare vinyl collector - so long as you're not after Japanese pressings! I couldn't find ANY 3" singles of western artists, for example, and Vinyl Japan is mostly an import store. Should have been the best shop in Soho, London, judging by the stock... Anyway, if I find good money in my matress or something like that, I for one am going to Tokyo in mid December. (I can dream, can't I?) ...anyone has seen the shows (also Gent / Luxembourg), please could you answer these questions: - It was told some days ago, Kraftwerk now show a videoclip during the "Pocket calculator" song: Can anyone describe it what's to see? Was it just graphics or 'real' film? - At the 1997 shows (Linz, Karlsruhe) the videoclips came from a Laserdisc Player in the Kling Klang consoles (I remember the 'wrong' videoclip startet at "Musique Non Stop" in Linz, 'cause Fritz forgot to change the videodiscs ;-) ). As the Kling Klang consoles are now gone - is there any hint, where the videos come from? Did any of the members (Fritz?) change some discs during the show? If not, maybe they come from DVD or harddsisc from their SONY Vaio notebooks now? Gruesse aus Wien, Georgie.
as far as i remember :-), the projection during pocket calculator (Gent) was the same as visible on www.kraftwerk.de... about the projections : i think they use indeed DVD... stijn

No visible change for me, they were _really_ static so the VCDs... The more alive were Ralf and the one at the left of Florian, balancing all the time) But there were these huge "cubes" behind them (in fact not real cubes, top is square (about a meter, the ones near the stage maybe can tell us a better size surrely), high is a bit higher than the K stage (about 60 cm) Denis )
Hello Georg, Probably the videos come from DVDs, because the Steinberg's software Cubase SX can control and sinchronize music and videos too.
