Henning Schmitz has been with Kraftwerk more than 15 years. He is credited on the Electric Cafe album as an engineer. Fritz Hilpert has been there a similar amount of time, and he is credited on The Mix Album, and his robot is on the sleeve, of course.
Thanks for the info, Rob... I really did remember was credited in a KW album. BUT, actually we didn't hear any work with them... probably in EC, Henning was just the engineer. The Mix album have teh credit for Fritz, but we didn't have any new song. We can consider that Fritz just rearranged the songs. I'm pretty interested in any new song with the new fab-four, just to compare with Karl & Wolfgang era... yes, I know, you will say we had three new songs at 97/98 concerts, but for me that was just the first version of songs that some day could see the light...
They received their "promotions" after Flur and Bartos left, and they are no less important than Flur and Bartos, in my view. They complete the line-up and play their role in the four-man band that is Kraftwerk
Nice point... IMHO they can be as importat as Karl & Wolfgang. Remember Wolfgang did compose anythig on KW. I like Yamo songs, but in KW he was just a player, like Henning. Fritz seems to be as Karl, a real composer. Anybody agree?
Don't you think the output speaks for itself? Autobahn to Electric Cafe with Wolfgang and Karl (or maybe he joined just after Autobahn) and Electric Cafe to... eeh, nothing really, with Henning and Fritz.
I think Henning & Fritz can do nothing about it. R&F always decided when KW release an album. We probably would have a nice surprise IF they release a new album. But, IMHO it will never happens... peace Nicolau www.kraftworld.hpg.com.br PS - listening KW live in Sao Paulo (Pocket Calculator). Probably the last KW concert. Actually I saw the last two ones... hehehe The funniest thing is hear some special crowd interference... :-)
