Hello Adam, If it's true, that's good news...we hope you're right concerning to australian releases, because the versions sold by CD-Now/Amazon are not remastered. It was announced like remastered, but we heard several times and there's no sensible difference compared to the original recordings. But how did you get this information? We know that "remastered" means only a process of digitalization, and not the rebuilt of the works, like many people think, but we await at least for better quality of sound, and it doesn't occurs.
Mastering is the final stage of preparing a recorded work--shaping the overall sound, like what producers and engineers do--before transferring to the media on which it is mass-produced, not what you say above. Many mastering studios have sites on the web--they'll corroborate this. Peace.
