Hi, I've been away for a week and read about a hundred messages in one go, so forgive me if this was already answered, but someone implied that Kraftwerk did not actually admit to being influenced by Stockhausen. They did, I have several interviews on tape from 1981 where Ralf talks about their early influences. He names Stockhausen, and also Fluxus happenings. John, help me here, could it be the Radio One show? Besides, if in 1971 you wanted to make electronic music, there wasn't exactly loads of it around to influence you. I notice that some of you make some rather frigid statements about Stockhausen's music, but when R&F were young, that was pretty much all there was. He WAS a pioneer. Therefore, as well as for other reasons, Stockhausen deserves the awards and prizes he gets. Whether you like contemporary classical music or trance is ofcourse up to you. love Oystein (sorry if I seem like a snotty besserwisser for not going into all the personal politics on this list, but I'm still really interested in the music!!) _________________________________________________________________ Send and receive Hotmail on your mobile device: http://mobile.msn.com
