And IMHO everybody has the right not to be confronted over and over with the crap he talked in one weak moment - all the more, if he himself concedes it was crap.
well ... i certainly wouldn't do this "over & over" , but ONLY once & for all ... to make it heard ( or read ;-) by the public , in order to let us all base our opinions on actual FACTS & not jus' hearsay etc. !!! anyway ... i also think that mr. stockhausen has finally learned a lesson from this specific experience & therefore i surely DON'T condemn him & would indeed like to interview him myself one day !!! ;-) changin' the topic to subharmonic sounds etc. ...
(following the Fourier theory, which would include the use of subharmonic sounds).
hm ... the fourier synthesis is a lil' bit weak , when it comes to subharmonic sounds , as "the maestro" ( oskar sala ;-) & also people like dieter doepfer ( http://www.doepfer.de ) once said , because it's simply NOT_ALWAYS possible to create sounds jus' by addin' or subtractin' diff'rent sine waves !!! :-/ but we all ( should ) know that especially mr. stockhausen was much more interested in the mathematical way to compose music than "the maestro" , who mostly composed music "by heart" ... & not jus' "by mind" , which makes the legendary oskar sala even more sympathetic to me than mr. stockhausen !!! *G+* ;-)
What I know is that the Electronic Studio of WDR was equipped with a monochord constructed in 1953 by Trautwein and Meyer-Eppler, but no one there was interested in playing it, so it went onto the attic.
