The sound of the Kraftwerk's concert in Madrid last night was almost awful,
dreadful in certain parts. I myself cannot explain why they played in that
place. Why they consented to play in such a venue, a coarse, horrendous
pseudo-macro-discotheque (which was really crowded). Especially
Aerodynamik's sound was very distorted, some parts of the lyrics couldn't be
heard. What a shame!
Lyrics appearing on the screen during The Man Machine were in German,
actually it was Die Mensch Maschine and it was even sung in German. And in
the intro the "aus Deutschland" part was left out as in the concerts in
Germany. The rest was the same setlist as in non-German speaking places.
In the first tracks Huetter was trying not to put his hand shielding his
mouth.
At the very end Ralf took out a piece of paper and reading it he said
"Buenas noches. Auf Wiedersehen".
During 'Prologue' screen showed equalizer graphics in blue and white.
Florian didn't move (except in The Robots ;-) during the whole concert and
sang in Autobahn.
Music Non Stop rendition was pretty short. Screen showed "boing bumm tschak"
instead of "boing boom tschak"
Background colour of the graphics during Pocketcalculator changed from white
to yellow.
There were too many mobile phones with camera among the audience, and also
some photo and video cameras. There were also two "official/authorized"
video cameras, one from a local TV channel (Telemadrid, which also
broadcasts via satellite) and the other from Kling Klang, I guess.
What I don't understand is some people's attitude, why they chatter away all
the concert long?, don't they like to hear the music? That drove me up the
wall!
A note about this tour. Have you notice Kraftwerk's members' faces are quite
illuminated? I saw them in Paris in 2002 and they weren't as much.
By the way, it's ironic that they were criticized for not being playing live
(in a traditional way) and the most cheering song be The Robots; four robots
performing the programmed and previously recorded music.
I bought Der Katalog (EUR 15) and an Aerodynamik T-shirt (EUR 25). There was
no item of the Catalogue promo box.
