Hi, How lucky you are if you live in a 'major' country. Here in Hong Kong HMV specified a 7th July release date, but a check of their computer showed they actually ordered TDF 03 on the 9th July. Regarding what editions we get here (ironic that the last Kraftwerk Hong Kong release was TDF in 1983!), it is usually a mixture - Euro editions, US editions + Japanese editions in specialist shops...at an equally varied number of prices. Promos here (for other artists) are also mixed, although there are increasingly CD-Rs. The nearest you'll get to a local release by a non-Canto Pop act is the likes of 'Eiffel 66' (spot their wire frame copy outfits in their videos?)...but then what do you expect for a place with 7 million people, which is techically part of China. OLN covers the TdF in the US. On the pre-race show they were going to an ad and they were showing USPS in the TTT playing KW in the background. Then you hear the vocoder: "Tour de France."

Glenn, after slagging the KraftwerkCenter off properly, said >You think nobody knew of this "solution" before"? Thanks for asking. I did not know of this solution. Besides, what is the difference? If I can hear it on web radio, or in streaming in the KwkCtr, do I need it as a download on my HD? What I do need, is a copy of the actual record. Some of you may not be record collectors, but I am, and a downloadable file will never be a sufficient substitute for any release for me - if I really like the music. I haven't heard the song yet, and I won't download or stream or anything like that. The first time I hear this will be coming out of my stereo. That's my choice. KraftwerkCenter provides me and anyone who really cares with another. For which I thank them. BTW, Glenn, You mentioned CoolEdit... I suppose you forked out the money and bought an official copy of CoolEdit, then, and didn't get a cracked version from a pal or something? And I suppose you don't have a user on the Kazaa network? So possibly there is a different UK Cat.No., which would make for one pressing, the rest of Europe and Japan have one pressing, the US may have one of its own, and is there a German language version for Germany only? >Excuse me, what special French edition do you refer to? The promo one? Not too sure, someone here said there'd be a special 2-track version for France with some stronger connection to the bicycle race... TdF2003 - pressing guide?

Der Auto wanted to know; >How many country editions of the record have been released? Doesn't seem like much, actually - my brother, who lives in Tokyo, got the domestic version there, and it is the EU pressing with an added standard "copy protected" sticker with text in Japanese, same sticker as on any protected CD from Emi Toshiba as far as I could gather. I suppose the US will have a different pressing, and the UK? So three 4-trk singles, maybe four 2-trk (as somebody mentioned a special French edition, no?) and at least two promos... I was hoping for a mispress like the UK Robots CD-single or German Expo2000, we can but hope I guess. I suppose the 2nd pressing of the German Expo2000 was released after the first sold out, so we'll see in a few months if they make another version of this too... So. Well.
