That never ending story of... Love Trance....
Active list and Lurkers, A few days ago, there was this guy named Alec Brown who was planning to sell his copy of Love Trance @Ebay. Unfortunately, his item was refused because it appears to offer material that violates someone's copyright, trademark, or other rights. His listing could violate state or federal law, and leaving it up could expose him and his bidders to legal liability. He is appealing against their decision now and hopes to have it back on soon. Anyways, this should be the 4th or 5th copy of Love Trance. Alec made his decision public on the Mancentral Files and this lead to another discussion wether PT3 is a genuine copy, a boot or a counterfeit.... c-Row is convinced it's real; 1. All known KLF bootlegs are pressed on thin vinyl. 006T isn´t. 2. Whatever track it plays, it is not an mp3 (apply CoolEdit´s vocal cut to it and you´ll see why) 3. Some of the instruments are the same as used in other KLF songs. 4. The vinyl came from Adrenalin who pressed all other PT issues (except LTTT) 5. At least test pressings HAVE BEEN confirmed by a former Adrenalin employee. 6. "The KLF have now left the building" is a reference to Elvis Presley and has nothing to do with their retirement at the BRIT awards - 3 a.m. demos already existed in 1990, and I don´t think that the KLF already planned their retirement at this point... His guess is that these are test pressings with labels put on them that are still in circulation. I am convinced it's not; 1) I don't think this is a bootleg but a counterfeit (discog) since I have got labels of PT3. That's strange enough because I have never encoutered any other labels (except PT4) of other regular KLF releases. Furthermore, Love Trance is in no way KLF-ish since the keyboard rifle sounds weird. (Don't even know if the other side (Monstermix) has been confirmed to be real). Other piont on this one is that you state "all known bootlegs". Graham asked himself "Could it be real?" He bought it early '92, so no big deal to investigate this. If you are certain that it's real, don't ask yourself -could it be real?- Than you shouldn't have bought it in the first place IMHO. 2)Can't refute that since I am no expert. 3)No big deal for a plugger and other associates to make a song. Check your own CD release :) More or less based on existing KLF songs. 4)Don't know who came up with thais argument in the past but with a little help from the inside you could press some 12" after hours. 5) The present guy. (at adrenalin) 6) O.k. but what about Kylie said to Jason "I'm gonna leave this party now" Wasn't that a reference to "a" retirement? And maybe the most valuable proof: 7) In the Pure Trance Intervieuw @Brandnew, Jimmy confirmed the fact that PT3 and PT4 never saw the day of light since they were awfully busy with their movie and the Ambient thing. There are definately conterfeits in circulation based on the already in advance pressed sleeves and labels. I can hear you all thinking right now; "ok, what's your point?". My point is that I am getting sick 'n tired of this record ;)) and I hope that somebody stands up having more details on the bloke who made it or some other plausible explinations why I am wrong... Sorry for this awfull long story but someone's got to do it... c-Row is convinced it's real;
1. That´s not what I pointed out at the Mancentral board. I just said that the newest Love Trance looks like all the others that appeared in the last time. Right ? 2. You said I should write down why I think it is real. That´s what I did. I never said that I´m convinced it is... there are enough points that speak against that, but that´s not what you asked me about. Right ? Shame on you ! ;-)
