Isn't it on that KLF greatest hits wiki we started at the beginning of the year? If not, I'll up to rapidshare for you, Nick.

This is what I've always thought was "Deep Shit".
And I thought this is Part I, not III :) This is because I already had this, but labeled as a Part I. -- antti l.
.. I think the KSTJ samples are too late for it to be Part I. Deep Sh*t pt I was originally scheduled for 88 I think. KSTJ didn't come out till 89. Antti Lavio <antti.lavio@possu.org> wrote: John Milne wrote:

Hello fellow listmembers, I've just come across Yello's "Flag" album from early '88 and especially the long versions of "The Race" struck me. Has anyone ever noticed the huge influence that this song must have had on Jimmy and Bill? There's quite a lot to find in the extended mix that last for 13:24 minutes. Not only that you have the roaring car sound that Jimmy used on Blacksmoke's "Gimpo Gimpo" but you also find the "slam" sample from WTIL. Furthermore there are instrumental parts that absolutely remind me of the synth parts of Go To Sleep/Last Train To Trancentral. And apart from that there's a lot of choir shouting ("Hey!") like in Doctorin' The Tardis and America:WTIL. Anyone else that has this strange feeling about The Race? Even melody lines were almost copied into Go To Sleep. And you have a steel guitar on the track! Hope to get some comments on that matter! Cheers, Dan --- a.k.a. Kuta, KLF Online (www.klf.de)

ahh, yeah, i noticed that too several years ago. yello have really not been too acknowledged as an influence, or maybe that most people think of "oh yeah" and that's it. the third album in particular has a lot of really amazing stuff on it (_you gotta say yes to another excess_). micah stupak benthic recordings : soundings from unexplored places micah@benthic.cc .. www.benthic.cc ---------------------------------------------------------------- This message was sent using IMP, the Internet Messaging Program.
