On the occasion of their comeback KLF 'To Burn Five Pounds'!

In a spectacular act of Dadaist, nihilist, art terrorist pop art, KLF have announced that hey are going to burn a whole five pound note.

In a similar gesture a few years ago, the KLF burnt a million pounds. Says Jimmy Cauty: "This isn't quite the scale we'd previously worked on, but you have to understand, burning money costs money. Do you know how much it cost to burn a million pounds? Go on, have a guess. Well, I'll tell you. A million pounds."

Bill Drummond adds: "This gesture will speak volumes about the nature of money and the interface between art and commerce and - er -well - oh, all right, this is our last fiver and we're going to burn it. No, not to get attention, that's the last thing we'd ever want to do. In fact, come to think of it, we're not going to so much burn it as singe it a bit around the edges. That way it'll be still legal tender down at the Happy Shopper. Well, have you seen the price of bulk fish fingers these days?"
