RE: [KLF] 'Remaster' of unreleased White Room OST
Simon How much are you looking for on these. I live in the UK. The source tape used was one that is far superior to any previously heard copy. It was taken directly from an original promo copy - so it's probably only 2 generations away from the master. The tape was sampled in 24bits at 96KHz and all audio processing was carried out in this format for optimum quality before being converted to the standard CD format. The correct stereo orientation and running speed was ascertained from an original copy of the KSTJ CD single and noise reduction was applied sparingly to reduce the slight hiss present on the source tape. The results are absolutely outstanding - probably as good as what a commercial copy might have sounded like. This version has none of the faults present in existing copies - there are no glitches in 'No More Tears' and 'The White Room', the end of 'Born Free' is intact and there are no clicks and pops at the end of tracks. This needs to be heard by everyone on the list! If you want one and are prepared to make it available to other list members (and preferably you live in the UK) - please get in touch with me off the list. There are 10 copies complete with artwork, 8 of which are remaining. Hi! I'm just compiling the list of remixes that Jimmy has done over the last few years. The only prob is that I'm not sure about the exact release dates. Is there a way of getting the release dates via the Net somehow? It's not only Jimmy's mixes without dates... Thanks!!! Dan

I used to struggle to find dates, but haven't had that problem for a while thanks to my long-term girlfriend. If you're still finding it hard to get the dates you're seeking, then personally my advice would be to go out to clubs which have reputations and won't let groups of more than three single men in at once, or join an evening class or something (I joined an evening class a few months ago and of the twelve people who turned up, six of them now seem to have paired off into three couples- not a bad success rate). I actually prefer it this way, and I would've thought I'm not alone. It actually means more conversation gravitates towards the list (previously, there was a tendency for KLF-related discussions to drift off-list, because people would respond only to the original poster not to the list). It's also in line with the other 'Net discussion lists I'm on. I would rather the list remained set to reply-to-list, and people just got used to double-checking where their message is going if they are responding to a list message but the reply is only meant for a specific person. And I would also like it if more people on this list used the word "obtuse". That would be entertaining. I don't mean to be obtuse, but... ;-) I also think that the 'reply to list' is a good setting, but I've been getting a lot of double posts recently. I think this is because people are hitting 'reply to all' as this put the email address in the 'to' field twice. Any way we can stop this? Odd- I haven't had any 'double posts' from this list for quite a while (in fact possibly not at all since the server was changed). Maybe this is a problem with your subscription to the list, rather than the list as whole?
Any way we can stop this?
Yes. Slap people about and tell them that they won't get any dinner until they learn not to be so obtuse and start using the normal reply options like everybody else. Hhhmmm... Maybe it's yahoo playing up...

I did consider torture, but I think I'll publicly humiliate the offending posters by naming and shaming them on the list :-) Chris __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
