Is this the most illegal recording ever?
42 hours worth of material... Sheesh! Tracks feature a few by The KLF. http://pod-135.dolphin-server.co.uk./~boom/thecd/boom.php imitating the imitators, recycling the recycled, bootlegging the bootleggers: boom selection has done it again. while the press have been hailing, slating and generally throwing promotion towards these new fangled 'mash ups', boom selection has become the punk journal of the scene. we don't take ourselves too seriously, we're not pretencious arses, we blatently disregard copyright laws and any traditional notion of the music industry, yet we embrace anything from pop music to the obscurest creation just emailed to us. we wanted to put together a very special collection of music, thing is we couldn't choose just 20 or 40 tracks - so we've done it in style by making a 3 cd mp3 set (ie. you play them on your pc or mac's mp3 player) containing 432 tracks and 11 full mixes. it's a blueprint for the site: not just bootlegs, but remixes, barrstard pop, fuckups, cutups and all the other shit our headphones vibrate to - there's no logic yet people seem to dig it. these cds contain every booty of note from the past year, some anchient appropriationist musings, some (shock!) 'original' tunes and more refference points than you can shake a strokes record at. with around 2000 uncleared, unauthorised samples it must be the most illegal record this year. you need to be quick to get one of these before we get in serious trouble. http://boomselection.info/ eclectic method a "short mashup of tony's speech yesterday at the TUC conference in which he warns us about nutty mr.bush" http://www.btinternet.com/~hodzic/load/EclecticMethod_Blair.wmv
