Here's one for you all. I finally caught up with the rest of the world and bought a computer. Got myself a mac from a friend ( he's a designer) in march of this year. One of the first things i do is go to a music download site (limewire) and type in KLF ( i've been a "FAN" of there work for many years) All the familiar stuff shows up but also something called CHILL OUT MEGA MIX ( ULTRA RARE ) so i promptly hit download. Thats where it got interesting. You see in the late 80's my social life was one of raves, clubs. djing and general over indulgence, I was in and out of record shops and doing chill out tapes for the early hours back at friends houses. I started one such soundtrack in late '90 and wrapped it up early in '91. ( please stick with me, there is a reason for the long intro) I didn't sell or do copies of the mixes, they where for myself and close mates. I did however trade one mix with a guy down south ( still know his name ). I'd been buying some rare KLF items from him and he'd asked if i had anything interesting. Now fast forward 13 years. it turns out that the ULTRA RARE MIX is the very same peace i had created. THE original work was 22.34 long ( Half the length of a 45min cassette, because my fostex portastudio ran at double speed ) the tape i sent to aforementioned guy had the original mix plus several remixes, breakdowns and dubs. These have cropped up in various guises, WHAT GOES ON ? COMING DOWN OFF E etc etc. There's a lot more i could prattle on about but the main point is that it's not some collaboration by the KLF and ALEX PETERSON, or some unreleased gem, it's just a MESS ABOUT by a 23 year old in his bedroom in Lancashire. I can support these claims. I still have the original master tapes and would gladly give any of you a direct copy on CD. ( the copy that has been bootleged suffers from tape slip and isn't a patch on the original quality ) Thanks for letting me get that off my chest. Mad what comes around eh. DISCUSS !!!!!!!!
hello, any chance you can tell what is the song where there are reports about rave parties/police in these mixes? I always thought it can be "turn up the strobe" thanx seb Jez Rothwell wrote:

When I get my FTP up and running again, I would love a copy on CD and on MP3. I am moving to Boston on Saturday and will not have a highspeed connect till September. -----Original Message----- From: klf-bounces+rmstringer=peoplepc.com@mailman.xmission.com [mailto:klf-bounces+rmstringer=peoplepc.com@mailman.xmission.com] On Behalf Of Sébastien Ledys Sent: Tuesday, June 29, 2004 5:01 PM To: All bound for Mu-Mu Land. thanx seb
The acid house reports where from a granada television documentary. I put those over an old house track which appeared on the compilation,
HISTORY OF THE HOUSE SOUND OF CHICAGO This was a12 album box set released on the BCM label. I'll do a complete track list and post it on the list.
Ah, the person you are referring to is (in)famous on this list!!!!!! You are the person he told me about that he got the mixes from. I remember buying a copy of Coming Down Off E from an offer made on this list - NOT from your person - who touted it as an original. The infamous person live close to me at the time and we shared a couple of beers once or twice. So in I go to see him with this great new disk that had just arrived...he said that looked familiar...puts it on the player and he said, this IS familiar, hold on if I go forward to this bit....It turns out, it was supplied to him from somebody he knew and it wasn't original! well there ya go!
