Can anyone who uses Windows recommend a good sample player? I'm effectively looking for an AKAI S1000 replacement (although it doesn't have to be able to read AKAI disks). All I really want to be able to do is load some samples (WAVS, AIFFS, etc.) up and play them back using the keyboard (ideally the numeric keypad), possibly being able to loop certain samples. I used to use NoiseTracker when I had my Amiga but I'm damned if I can find anything for the PC. Failing that, I'll write one myself! :-)
Slightly off-topic...If you are after something like Noise-/Protracker, you should check out www.modplug.com and have a look at the MPTracker. I used it myself some time, and I can really recommend it. ------ Thomas Touzimsky "Sometimes I think of letting go and never looking back and never moving forward so there would never be a past."
For DOS I can recommend FastTracker, which should have exactly the 'live-play' support you're looking for, else ScreamTracker or ImpulseTracker 2.14 for DOS. For Windows I would recommend ModPlugTracker or Buzz or (dare I say) FruityLoops!!!! Chris Peel wrote:
