i was browsin the winmx file sharing service and came across an mp3 called JAMES BROWN IS DEAD (its actually mislabbled JAMES BROWN IS DEATH). i dont dl music that i can just buy but ive never heard of this track before in any discogs.i havent finished dl it yet so i dont know if it sounds KLF or not but given B&Js penchant for cutting up the work of alleged musical greats i would asume that its an early JAMS track. anybody know anything.

James Brown Is Dead is a track by the group LA Style, from 1991. They have nothing to do with Bill or Jimmy, as far as I know. The band is Dutch. http://www.discogs.com/release/16790 --SG

It's probably "James Brown is Dead" By L. A. Style, a rave hit in mainland Europe many years ago. I'm not aware of any connection to the KLF, apart from the fact that there are probably more mixes of it than there are of WTIL, so it's probably just mislabelled. - Andy_R
I have the CD single of the song.....Circa 1990 RMStringer ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ -----Original Message----- From: klf-bounces@mailman.xmission.com [mailto:klf-bounces@mailman.xmission.com]On Behalf Of Andrew Robinson Sent: Thursday, August 28, 2003 3:53 AM To: All bound for Mu-Mu Land. yes, predictably enough, google does it's probably this: http://www.discogs.com/release/85430 I watched one of my favourite films again recently, David Lynch's Lost Highway, and was struck by the KLF links. Not only is it a bit trippy, but they say the line "Dick Laurent is dead" more than once. Anybody know anything? j -- Rules of Optimization: Rule 1: Don't do it.
