Actually the tactics Blacksmoke are suggesting are similar to the ELF (another eco-terrorist organization)'s tagging of cars and stuff, except non destructive. I hope this will try to be non-destructive at least. Nick King wrote:

Sencond time was a man who was fishing in a harbour. I think the fisherman was votet "Not Guilty", but don't know about Greenpeace. Ulrik
Hello everyone in sunny Mu-Mu Land. This is my first post to this wonderful place, although I have been lurking from the depths for a while. I emailed a "friend" about this Blacksmoke/Greenpeace tape stuff, here is his reply: ---------------- Whats this rubbish Dave? Some far left nonsense is it? Whatever happened to the Dave I knew, when I asked him who he was going to vote for in the 92' election " The party who is going to build more nukes man" Global warming is a load of baloney manufactured by people who want to stop the march of progress and modernity and the triumphant spread of McDonalds and because of their bizarre irrational, anti - americanism. More power stations, more roads , more shops, offices, more Big Brother series, more growth is what we need. Less rainforest - (some trees are being cut down, diddums) , Less cycle paths (those people are a self righteous menace), less whingeing liberal so called do gooders as well. Global warming indeed, its those asteroids we ought to be on the look out for - look at what happened to the dinosaurs. The Blacksmoke project - I notice they want you to buy stuff. Which is good . Thats how capitalism works folks - making loads of plastic stuff and flogging it to idiots. Message ends. ---------------- Funny, init? Dave

an expression of youthful impetuousness is my guess despite being one of the more ancient members of this list i lay no claim to sagely wisdom but i do recall in my distant youth holding pretty similar views and attitudes as expressed... free market global enterprise was surely the panacea to world poverty and technological advance the only worthwhile yard stick thankfully i grew tired of wearing my bigotry like some badge of honour and began asking questions of myself and the psycho-cybernetic constructs i had created for me that questioning process is an ongoing constant and any action that starts, encourages or accelerates that process in either groups or individuals is definately welcome in my book it doesnt take a monumental intellect to work out that this planets resources are finite and that the effect of rampant consumerism is staggering quantities of resource depletion, waste and pollution in 1995 the IPCC [Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change] decided that "... the balance of evidence suggests that there is a discernable human influence on global climate," and since then both the number of voices and the volume at which the message is being shouted has only increased of course i can accept that there is a statistical probability that whatever efforts we expend may well count for nought in the event of some "deep impact meteoric catastrophy" however i can not escape likening that arguement to ignoring the lorry thats hurtling towards you because you are too busy looking out for an aeroplane that might be flying overhead... dilligence is required to avoid both as there is no exclusivity notwithstanding this diatribe any statement [artistic or otherwise] which provokes reactive participation is, at whatever level, better than abject apathy and for those who might question how wrapping "enviroment costly" items in a product of the petro-chemical industry helps i'd say accept the contradictions and justAAArt love peace and happiness tim cu@thechill

Got my tape. Any suggestions on what I can wrap up? (Don't say "my head", it's already been said.) A good one would be one of those patio heater things...a complete waste of energy. Quite literally. I mean what the f**k are they all about...you go outside and put the heater on because you are cold. If you want to keep warm stay indoors or put a jumper on, you stupid eijits.... ...may as well have a bonfire made of banknotes! (Wait a minute...hasn't someone done that already?!?) Dave
