Re: [KLF] Slightly off-topic...
Err...under W3.1 I used to do the following: record the sample, then make a patch out of it (via PatchMaker), then using it in MID files. It sounded crap, but I loved it anyway. Apart from that, now I use primitive samplers, and an old synth which sometimes works as a master keyboard. Plus other uncool shit. I don't know anything better for W98...
Can anyone who uses Windows recommend a good sample player? I'm effectively looking for an AKAI S1000 replacement (although it doesn't have to be able to read AKAI disks). All I really want to be able to do is load some samples (WAVS, AIFFS, etc.) up and play them back using the keyboard (ideally the numeric keypad), possibly being able to loop certain samples. I used to use NoiseTracker when I had my Amiga but I'm damned if I can find anything for the PC.
Failing that, I'll write one myself! :-)
