What is there left to Kollect?
I was browsing through Ebay earlier today (JAMSCD4 "buy it now" for £100, anyone?) and wondered - what is still worth getting excited about in KLF collecting circles? CHOC ICES, USAPROMOs, Love Trances, etc seem to appear regularly now. Here's what I think is "still exciting" (even if some might not exist): CDs: Eternity Project One, History of the JAMs Possum edition, No More Tears (French promo), What Time is Love (the Coma CD with the "Primal Mix"), Marathon "Love Park" (3" CD with Orbital mixes) Vinyl: KLF010RR (haven't seen one of them for four years, and it was German import); ETERNITY 1 (Ebay once threw up a backwards-mastered 12" of this, I think - but not the three-tracker); KLF8T (the original Last Train, or even the sleeves with "The White Room - Pure Trance 5" written on them); Last Train (Benio Dub) Any views?
Well, I've seen the No More Tears (French promo) CD on ebay... Never seen the What Time Is Love (Coma CD with Primal - that is, if it does have the Primal mix on there?) And also never seen the Last Train (Benio Dub) mysterious 12"... Anybody? Bueller? :-) -----Original Message----- From: klf-bounces+nickwking=ntlworld.com@mailman.xmission.com [mailto:klf-bounces+nickwking=ntlworld.com@mailman.xmission.com] On Behalf Of John Milne Sent: 06 January 2007 18:26 To: All bound for Mu-Mu Land. Personally as well as some evidence of an 'original' LTTT or original/extended Go To Sleep (elements of which seem to crop up all over as previously mentioned) and perhaps more than just labels for Turn Up The Strobe (not a hokey fake track please!), of the items that there has been serious evidence of, i would love to see/hear own: The Deep Shit/Lovers Side (extended) promo that Thomas et al had in their hands some years back. I'm still a little confused as to why MP3s of both have been floating around for years but usually at 96kbp/s for Deep Shit and 160kbp/s (if memory serves) for Lovers Side Also it always seemed kinda odd that they would press two very different tracks from different eras on the same vinyl, but perhaps my timeline is a little screwed up right now? Also like to hear the Black Room Demos that more progress was made on (rather than the lo-qual ENT backing tracks) which do exist and apparently are pretty awesome, but probably languish in Jimmy's basement or something =( Would love to see evidence of KLF004M so we can confirm if the Love Trances that are appearing everywhere have a fake WTIL remix on the B =) Would also be interested to see the Coma CD John mentioned. I have the 7" and the 12" appears sometimes on ebay but I never saw the CD Regarding the Madrugagda Eterna promo I could swear a whie label of this appeared on ebay recently although I sometimes get mixed up with that Italian 12"...the one-sided promo effectively has the version that is on Chill Out, being more 'ambient' than the so-called 'Club Mix' right? Oh and would be cool if some KLF tracks still only exclusive to vinyl appeared on some more obscure old compilation CDs such as one of the WTIL PT mixes, the WTIL virtual reality mix, 3AM 3PM Electro etc. as i've been wanting to put together some nice KLF mix CDs for years but would prefer to master all the tracks from CD, though there are some v nice vinyl rips around OK i'm done =) tbc. To all, I have a 1 sided whitney joins the jams promo with ' MPO JAM 24T A2 ' in the runout groove what do you think i should put it on ebay for ? ...anyone. p.s. Many years ago, back in the day i spoke to bill a few times over the phone, (after a magazine printed his home phone number as the 'KLF record companies' number by mistake), and he did mention about lots of stuff that they just threw away when they weren't happy with it, there could be so much we didn't get to hear, that was just binned and he even said that at some point they might Re-film The White Room because it didn't come out how they wanted, a while after they disbanded. personally, i'd be surprised if "e-train" 008T is any different from LTTT 008R. practically speaking, it just kinda makes sense. on the other hand, LTTT being my second favourite bill/jimmy track, a "pure trance original" of it in the style of WTIL is pretty damn exciting. imagining the melody lines, the strings, etc, done as to match the rest of the pure trance originals is a halfway decent fantasy. ;) consider pure trance 2, though, the original 3AM. it's not in a very similar style to WTIL PT1. that's what leads me to believe that, if anything, "e-train" just sounds like 008R, a bit more raw, with more of "go to sleep" in it. micah stupak benthic recordings : soundings from unexplored places micah@benthic.cc .. www.benthic.cc ---------------------------------------------------------------- This message was sent using IMP, the Internet Messaging Program.
Perhaps between the list members, we can determine how many different picture discs exist ? I have two versions... The first has IGUN lyrics and a picture of B&J in raincoats on stage, pointing and looking upwards. The other is a magazine article, probably Record Mirror and has a photo of B&J (Jimmy wearing bead necklace and 'aviator' shades, and Bill is facing away to the right). Its just a speech, no music. Check out the discog entry.... The KLF - remixes and production work [Amnesty International: N/A] [Amnesty International: N/A] 7"PD: 1991 UK (??; BSAPC-7-1) [x1] [KLF: Layout. Test pressing of an Amnesty International charity picture disc. The KLF 'created' the artwork by sending in a copy of their T-speaker White Room ad. It was rejected. The recording is speech only and has nothing to do with the KLF whatsoever.] --- Simon Glass <tygerbc@yahoo.com> wrote:

I must admit, the fake pressings of Love Trance on ebay are starting to bore me now. Does anyone really want to pay £350 for a marble effect bootleg? Hopefully if people stop bidding on them, the sellers stop selling them and ultimately the pressers stop pressing them. I feel sorry for the fortunate few who have a genuine Adrenalin copy because its value has surely dropped over the last couple of months. With regards to KLF010RR, I too have only ever seen the German import. Never in 10 years of searching have I ever come across a genuine KLF Comms copy. Nor have I seen a pressed version of E-Train (8T) or the sleeve, however I wouldnt be surprised if it exists somewhere. Does anyone know if the sleeve text and large number '5' is turqouise or luminescent green as I think that is what colour the labels are? I'm curious as to what colours it is? A few labels have been sold on ebay but I guess the sleeve is far more attractive to the Kollector even minus the vinyl. The rarest item I have ever seen for sale on ebay was the Illegal Remix of Deep Shit KLF010IR, however I guess the holy grail is the WTIL? 004M acetate or a DS flexi-disc...both have yet to be proved that they exist. So the Deep Shit you saw, was it pressed on vinyl? One sided? And is it the same Deep Shit that we've discussed previously, being AYNIL/The Queen and I (I forget which) with added Bill ranting at the start? I Appreciate you didn't get to listen to it but perhaps someone else knows as I for one didn't know this existed, or was even rumoured to exist Regarding sleeves for E-Train, i've seen a scan of a sleeve for either E-Train or Go To Sleep somewhere, i think it was black and blue, but not sure if it was genuine. Again could someone confirm? I've seen KLF010RR on ebay so I guess that was the German import. I was only aware of one version existing with a red stamp on the sleeve or wrapper but otherwise bearing similarities to the usual KLF010R? And didn't know it wasn't produced in the UK so this list is proving to be quite educational of late! I'm still convinced I saw some kind of white label of ME on ebay very recently but didn't catch the end price, and perhaps it was a white label of the Italian release if such a thing exists tbc.
