RE: [KLF] Contemplating sale of KLF Vinyl- Advice please
Well, that must have been a big shock. I've always been scared that would happen. Rule one, never tell people that you're a big fan/collector of vinyl (or other collections). Most of the times these things happen when someone knows what you're doing. The records probabely end up on ebay. Maybe a good opportunity to locate the items and once you've won the auction, locate the bastard, send the nearest listmember to "collect" your record(s) back and kick some ass. I'll be happy to bid. That would be my suggestion.. Maarten

I had my hand forced recently when I had a fair number of items stolen. Sadly, I'd taken some of my rarer items to a DJ friend's house and he was burgled while we were out. He came off much worse, losing a large amount of equipment (what they couldn't carry they chucked down the stairs), but I lost the records I'd brought with me (including the PT3 and PT4 sleeves which were being used to house a black JAMS28T (yep, the black version of the grey one) and one of my KLF 92 PROMO 3's.
I can't offer you a solution to your dilemma either I'm afraid, however I can certainly see the merits in simply putting it all onto CDR/MiniDisc/iPod and then selling the lot. Certainly, if you're looking for a good (and now much more secure) home for some of your collection let me know as I'm in the market again for some rarities!
Chris

Peace on earth, I've spent close to 3 years collecting my K's, more then 300 items were sent from all over the world to me in Israel. 3 years, 3 years of spendin' all my money and time on this project. the last item I bought was the german CD5 of WTIL? with the power mixes on it and that was like 5 years ago I believe. I see only 3 options of what to do with my lot, one is to keep it, two is to sell/give it and three my favorite, to take a video cam, burn the entire collection and film it for you guys. I'm just odd like that, David A.
Don't burn them. Apply sandpaper to them all, then sell them on e-bay mentioning that you've sandpapered them to make them completely unplayable. It shouldn't affect bids too much. So do I! That wasn't a reference to his music, it was a reference to the fact that once, during a DJ set, he allegedly played a sheet of sandpaper on the turntable =) David A <b0red@Bezeqint.net> wrote:Hey!
