I bought a boot of PROMO3, and its text was the same as ETERNA23 - same "handwriting", but bigger than normal on KLF offical releases. I seem to remember reading somewhere that PROMO 3 had 20 "official" and an extra 50 or so "unofficial" copies. They all came out the same time, from the same plant, but the "unofficial" ones were not intended for release. Does this sound plausible to anyone?

This guy has sold some good stuff recently, however this promo 3 does look suspect, I have an original promo 3. there are 2 'rims' in the centre of the disc on ebay, the original only has 1 but without seeing the text in the runout one can't be 100% sure. The text should be the same as promo 2 and 099X.

People are allowed to change allegiances, and I'm sure there are many old KLF fans around who many years ago sold theirs JAMSCD4s or Love Trance sleeve/labels combos, and are now quite happy with their Coldplay CDs bought from Adsa for £7.99 in the sale. A sign of getting old? Or just free choice?
Anyway, another sign of getting old is noticing the fluctuations in Ebay prices? Is it just me, or are the seller's rare items going for (generally) about £30 less than would previously have been the case?

in fairness looking at this seller's feedback he has recently sold some veeeery rare KLF items (anyone here?) so chances are this is legit. whatever the bootleg/fake/real ongoing saga with Love Trance, that sleeve and labels look so nice...*sigh*
seems like he was someone 'on the inside' or some uber fan like pete robinson
however i know i shouldn't delve into ebay feedback but he seems to be selling this stuff in favour of buying madonna picture discs mostly from her bland early 90s period....hmmmm
much as i love madonna, that is still so wrong...=(

I think we pretty much established 92promo2 and 92promo3 were bootlegged at some stage (i have strong memories but alas no evidence of seeing the two for i think 12 and 20 quid or thereabouts in a record collector ad, possibly sister ray, in the mid-to-late 90s and possible bootlegs have been discussed here fairly recently) but this is still pretty damn rare in whatever form

I'm afraid it's the 'unofficial' version with the runout text just like ETERNITY23, not PROMO2. I asked the seller whether the matrix number has hyphens or not and he said it does. For those who aren't familiar, the unofficial version has 'KLF-92-PROMO 3-A-1' written in the runout groove whereas the official KLF Comms version has 'KLF 92 PROMO 3 A1' instead with no hyphens. This has been well documented in a previous thread. Don Gagen had some scans on his website at one point but that was a few years ago now and the link he supplied no longer works. I have the page and images at home. I'll see if I can put the page back together so you all can check it out. Otherwise I can just put the raw images on the web.
