Jez's comment about IGUN got me wondering - I love it (not least as I'm from 'The North' and Chester was mentioned in it) - what do others on the list think of it?
there are people who don't like it? i think it's one of the top three cauty/drummond tracks of all time. (i do prefer the JAMS version to the KLF version, though - it's rawer, harder.)

did the klf do a version?

whoops, no, my mistake, sorry. i was confusing the 1990 (JAMS 28T) and 1991 (JAMS 28R) versions. i prefer the original 12" - for love or money version - to the part 1/part 2 version. micah stupak benthic recordings : soundings from unexplored places micah@benthic.cc .. www.benthic.cc ---------------------------------------------------------------- This message was sent using IMP, the Internet Messaging Program.

I can never remember, is the For Love or Money version the one commonly refered as the "dance mix" of IGUN?

yep - i can never remember which is the official name and which is the bootleg - "club mix" or "for love or money mix". :) i'd check the discog, but it appears to be firewalled out here at work (?). micah stupak benthic recordings : soundings from unexplored places micah@benthic.cc .. www.benthic.cc ---------------------------------------------------------------- This message was sent using IMP, the Internet Messaging Program.

Ah, I ment 'club mix.' The discog says the 1990 one track release is "the original club mix." Frankly I don't remember a "for love or money" mix.

ahh, okay, gotcha. for love or money mix must be the bootleg name (on last rites of mu, i think). micah stupak benthic recordings : soundings from unexplored places micah@benthic.cc .. www.benthic.cc ---------------------------------------------------------------- This message was sent using IMP, the Internet Messaging Program.
IGUN (part two) was light years ahead, totally bangin, and still is. it was splendid to see the JAMs storm straight into the top ten on the back of the KLF hits. i almost believed the great british public had developed a discerning pop sensibility. it didn't last. t

Then again, you could say it was because of the KLF hits before it that drove it up there. Hit by association?? - necco

absolutely. but since the KLF logo only appeared on the back of the 12" sleeve, thats still good going, straight into the top ten. by the way, has anyone got a full copy of the "last ufo to trancentral" kicking around that they could share for me on slsk? i seem to have lost mine since it appeared on the orginal ftp site a few years back. it had three tracks: baton rouge rock / love time kiss / last ufo. no idea where it originated from, but a fan mix of some kind, i expect. t
