This question might already have done the rounds, but since I can't remember the FAQ address off-hand, I'll ask it anyway... What's the story behind there being two different edits of the White Room movie? The version I have on VHS from years ago is different to the version I was very kindly given on VCD at the Barbican gig. Visually there are only some minor differences that I noticed, but the main difference is the audio track- the VHS version I have is more ambient, dubbier, more atmospheric and a bit smoother. The VCD version contains more music from the 1989 White Room demos tape. I didn't sit down and compare them, I'm just going from memory, so I might not be completely right here. In fact maybe they're the same and I'm just going mad?!... From memory - there are indeed 2 soundtracks - one from 1989 when the inner film was first roughly assembled and the second one from around 1991 when the film was shown to German businessmen in an attempt to raise finance to finish the film. The easiest way to tell the difference is at the end of the film - the 1989 one ends in 'wind' like noises and the 1991 version ends with LTTT.

I've only got the first one - is there a link to download the second? Andrew
- KLF VCD AMNESTY - Seeing as the VCD I made of the 1991 edit of the White Room is a couple of years old now if any one wants to send me an SAE and a blank CD I'll copy it for them for free. I don't have anywhere online to put it but email me for my mailing address and I'll be happy to send it to any list member one by post. The only thing I ask is you send me a suitable return envelope and a CD or say £1 to cover the cost of a blank. Andy

That's a VERY kind offer from you! but I live in Israel & I have A.D.S.L. line. Isn't it another place where you can put in on-line? maybe not today but in the future? maybe somebody in he' have an idea? klf.de? anybody? Thank you, very much. David A.
A remote server won't work I think. The old CD is around 600 MB, what exceeds our available space... traffic costs not counted. --- Thomas Touzimsky same shit // different day ----- Original Message ----- From: "David A" <KLF23@Bezeqint.net> To: <klf@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Saturday, November 23, 2002 12:30 AM Subject: Re: [KLF] The White Room film versions

Simon is spot on with his description. The cut for the German market was made to interest German distributors. Most of the money the KLF made was from overseas sales as Rough Trade Distribution/The Cartel went into liquidation in 1990 leaving a string of unpaid royalties and sales. I don't know if the KLF ever got paid the full amount for their Uk sales. I know I left RTD to go work at Appearing. Both were in the same building on Collier Street in King's Cross. Andy
