"White Room" movie 1989 version
Hi everyone, I just wondered if anyone had a copy of the "White Room" movie with the original soundtrack (i.e, the "demos" or soundtrack album) underneath it rather than the collection of 1991 and 1989 tracks that soundtracked the version show in Germany about 6 months before the BRITS? I know the 1991 version was released as a promo, but was the original version (with "The Lover's Side", "Go To Sleep", etc. and possibly even the "WTIL" sheep promo clip) ever made available in any format? John
John I don't think one ever existed. There was a lot of stuff laying around at Appearing such as a shooting script and the audio tape but I'm sure no movie version existed until the 1991 edit for the German distributors. If there was Scott would have had one. Andy For an extra point which radio one DJ worked at Appearing? ----- Original Message ----- From: "John Milne" <john@highlandland.fsnet.co.uk> To: <klf@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Wednesday, June 30, 2004 11:01 PM Subject: [KLF] "White Room" movie 1989 version

I've often wanted to mix a 'new' soundtrack for it, using the older tracks (thanks to Thomas & Dan's superb remasters) plus Madrugada Eterna and perhaps some remixes as would need to be longer than the White Room OST album. Also thsi would dispense with the weird 'muttering' that replaces dialogue in the more common version. I don't have the means to dub this to DVD or whatever but i'll probably just do a CD, though not sure when as have other fish to fry first. Simon If you can do the mix I can do a multi audio track DVD. All I need is an audio file that runs the exact time as the video. It might be a while due to the small snag that i need to learn how to mix first =) but i'm working on it and it would be more a case of timing, editing, crossfades etc i think. I have the tools to do it and will let you know if i manage it. Actually it would be very good practice for any future remix projects i may undertake! There is a copy that has the original sound track. It did the rounds on this list many years ago. The video is fairly poor quality and the sound track is fairly noisy, but it does exist and somebody must have a good copy of it. there is definitely a 1989 version It was available on the pinknet ftp a few years ago as part of the 7 cd video compilation i ain't got it but i must have the tracklisting for video compilation somewhere I found "the drum club - sound system" last week in paris, it features Maxine Harvey </artist/Maxine+Harvey> on vocals and cressida cauty is credited on the cover for the connection with maxime Harvey. The Underworld remix is brillant ! seb John Milne wrote:

"There is definitely a 1989 version" Is the 1989 version the one with opening bars to E-Train to trancentral ? Al --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Checked by AVG anti-virus system (http://www.grisoft.com). Version: 6.0.714 / Virus Database: 470 - Release Date: 02/07/2004
Sounds intriguing...I hope someone can track this down? I always thought part of E-Train or the 12" mix of 'Go To Sleep' could be heard in the WTIL Virtual Reality mix...the bit towards the end that kinda goes "sleep sleep sleep go go go to sleep" etc but much more clubby and less poppy than the production on the White Room OST. I think it occurs in another track too, perhaps the Moody Boys remix of WTIL...unfortunately I don't have it to hand right now to check. IIRC it is the Moody Boys remix of WTIL, around the end. ..::// Thomas Touzimsky A fanatic is one who cannot change his mind and will not change the subject.
