I'm sad to see that the Mancentral KLF site is closing down around 7 March
For those interested in the KLF's work methods and motivation, the good news is the http://klf.life.eu.org/ site is still active for now. There is an invaluable set of mpegs available for download featuring a selection of interviews with Bill and Jimmy from 1990, where they discuss the difference between the KLF and JAMs, the "White Room" movie (Jimmy looks a little wistful at this), the abortive Pure Trance singles, the reasoning behind "Chill Out" and "stadium house", and their nervousness about the "White Room" sessions. Also included is a brief clip of them live on stage (I think it's the infamous gig where they handed out their sound equipment to the audience) and some footage of them recording JAMSLP6 at Trancentral. The track featured is called "The Sherrif of Mu Mu", an otherwise unreleased song based on and instrumental version of "The Lover's Side" (anyone know if there is a bootleg recording of this?). In all the footage, Bill and Jimmy are both incredibly candid and - for want of a better expression - "normal" throughout the whole interview. I have no idea where this interview originated from (save from the Mancentral site). Does anyone know anything about who interviewed them, or for what purpose the interview it was originally intended? Sorry, I downloaded this interview last week - I would have mentioned it earlier, but I thought maybe people who already know of it. Regards, John Not Scots, just Scott-ish
