I must have missed something,
have you actually got the the Deep shit flexi ?
Unfortunately not, but I know the guy who's got one. If I remember correctly, he even had more than one copy since he was a good friend of Jimmy (who decided he didn't need them so he gave them away). I didn't see this particular copy of Deep Shit myself, but Jens and Torsten held it in their own hands and even listened to it on a turntable at that guy's house in England. And no, he didn't give away free copies... :-/ (he did, however, give them one of the yellow Rites Of Mu robes and a whitelabel copy of SPACE with funny drawings from Jimmy on the inner sleeve) ..::// Thomas
I'm a little confused Thomas, I thought one of you guys had gone to England and seen the 12" containing Deep Shit and Lovers Side (extended), and somehow got MP3s of these tracks, the ones that are fairly easily available (although I never understood why DS was encoded at 96kbps & LS at 192kbps or something) So it was actually the flexi that was seen? I thought the flexi was just a myth...wasn't it also linked to a 'Deep Shit' comic by Jimmy? So has anyone seen the 12"? If not, where did the extended Lovers Side MP3 come from? I've never seen 004M...that's the 1-sided Monster Attack mix if memory serves? I do wonder if we still refer to Pete Robinson's discography for availability and whilst it was the most authoritative at the time, and made great reading, i'm not sure it was very accurate Still on the subject of raritites but moving away from vinyl, has anyone ever seen a 'genuine' promo cassette of the White Room OST, as they were rumoured to exist? I guess it would be hard to identify but the majority of bootlegs & unoffical versions were pretty poor quality until the KLF.de guys worked their magic and cleaned them up. Presumably any promo cassettes would've been quite good quality, within the limits of tape. Anyone know how the recordings were sourced? And similarly the 1990 (or whenever it was) demo version of 3AM...does anyone know how this was acquired? Weren't the tapes stolen or lost, so it was remixed again? Personally I love this mix as it combines features of the Pure Trance original with the eventual SSL mix, and again Thomas did a good job of cleaning the recording up (thanx again!) tbc. thomas@klf.de wrote:

Let me clear this up. Well, Torsten and Jens did a trip to England to visit a very close friend of Jimmy's. This guy did NOT have the before mentioned Deep Shit Flexi. It was a common KLF 12 inch sleeve with a white label 12 inch record in it. On the a side there was Deep Shit (basically KSTJ with Bill's intro) and on the b side there was The Lovers' Side (Extended). Both tracks were digitally recorded by Torsten and he took them back to Germany. That's how WE got Deep Shit and The Lovers' Side directly from the original vinyl. But I have no idea what was written in the centre around the sleeve... Have to ask Torsten, maybe he still remembers. But - as far as I know - the MP3s must have come from another recording as we didn't spread it in the net. So there must be at least one other copy of exactly this Deep Shit 12 inch, right? It never has surfaced, why? After all, noone has ever seen a Deep Shit flexi or a comic or anything like that. Chrs, Dan --- a.k.a. Kuta, KLF Online (www.klf.de)
