Not proper vocals, maybe some "conversations" with Bill:
I always though the "conversations" between Bill and Jimmy in early JAMMs recordings were actually just Bill talking to himself. Certainly the "I'd love to be in Abba" bit seems like the same voice - that distinctive Galloway twang we all know and love - doubled up. It's been a while since I've listened to some of the early stuff, but I always assumed that this method was used for all the cross-talk (apart from the (Hendrix sampling?) wah-wah guitar on "Shag Times" that I mentioned earlier) so as to heighten the mystery about who "Rockman" actually was. Even circa "All You Need is Love", it was an open music industry secret that the JAMMs were Bill Drummond and someone else. But wasn't Jimmy more of a mystery ... because he had less history? Bill Drummond isn't the only Scotsman who can rhyme and rap, you know! John
