Sounds possible, although I understood Jimmy was doing a separate set, something akin to the one he did in Bristol recently. Speaking of Jimmy and Alex, I listened to the Orb's A Huge Evergrowing...etc last night and had forgotten how superb it is...anyone into Space or Chill Out who hasn't checked it out or not done so recently is advised to (re)visit. For the record it was recorded by the Orb when it was just LX and Jimmy...IMO the best version is the Peel Session version from 1989 which is just incredible...mixed and produced by Jimmy. Does anyone know where the kinda male choral sample that is used heavily in this version originally came from? Is it just Gregorian chant or something more contemporary? It's from the album "Slave to the Rhythm" by Grace Jones, right at the start of one of the tracks (either 5 or 7 depending on which version you have). It's very quiet, you might miss it unless you are paying close attention! - Andy_R

Well, I wasn't in the studio at the time :-) but the tune is played rather than taken from another record (which is why the writers of "Slave to the Rhythm" get writing crdits on later releases of 'A huge evergrowing') and it's not synthesised. That album was one of the first ZTT productions to be done on the Synclavier hard disk recorder system (accroding to interviews with TCH), and the sample is not one of the well known Fairlight vocal choir samples, so I think it's a reasonable guess to say it's probably played with samples from the Synclavier library, quite possibly by Steve Lipson. - Andy_R
Apparently not, two different sets as far as I can make out... According to Pete Lawrence (on the Big Chill message board), Jimmy promises "an updated version of Chill out" and will be appearing in the Chill tent on the Sunday night just before Mixmaster Morris... Pop Damage are apparently appearing in the Sanctuary Tent... Anyway, original news was posted on www.blacksmoke.org Looking forward to it, whatever it may be! :-) l8rs, Nick ;-) -----Original Message----- From: Simon Glass Sounds possible, although I understood Jimmy was doing a separate set, something akin to the one he did in Bristol recently.
