Re: KLF items for sale & auctioned
Well, since I'm the one who started this thread, I might as well answer to the question to why people sell their KLF collections... In my case, I'm more into making my own music these days, and less into collecting other people's. Not that I don't buy records etc. but I'm not into mad record collecting these days... Currently I'm trying to raise funds for a pair of studio monitors and a better MIDI synth, that's the immediate cause of my sale... The KLF has been a big inspiration for me musicwise though - especially their ambient house era (Chill out, Pure Trance 5, Space, etc.). On my forthcoming album (released on Centaur Discs within a few months) there is a track called "Siberian train" which is partly inspired by the original version of "Last train to trancentral" and even has some train samples from it. On this new track (Xylus pili) you'll find some KLF samples about 7-8 minutes into the track: http://www.johanagebjorn.info/xyluspili.mp3 BTW, my eBay auctions were successful except for the Japanese issue of "The White Room" CD, so if anyone wants that I'll sell it for US$10. Cheers, Johan. PS - are you guys familiar with Chris Liebing techno remix of KLF from 2004, called something like "Last train at 3 am in Mumuland"? ------------------------------------------ Johan Agebjörn antioxidant@glocalnet.net mp3s: www.johanagebjorn.info For sale list: www.johanagebjorn.info/forsale.html
I sometimes think that some of the KLF items that *don't* go on ebay, sometimes quite freakishly (such as your Japanese "White Room"), may fair better in second-hand record shops. Some traders just see "KLF" and will pay silly money for even things like KLF3T etc. It's worth checking out (although thankfully all my KLF auctions - so far, touch wood - have been successful).
