RE: Re: [KLF] [OT] Pants Server
I don't like the way he chucks a strop when no one answers his often obscure off-topic requests, but that's probably just me. On the topic of the FTP server though, wasn't it going to be taken off line?
Why yes Chrisey Wissey, tomorrow, I will no longer have internet service as I am moving. Back online on Dec 7th. Quoting Chris Peel <chris@k23productions.com>:
And that's just childish.
Count yourself lucky you haven't been the recipients of one of RM's charming offlist strings of mails accusing you of bestiality, sub-normal intelligence, carrying infectious diseases, homosexuality (oh noes! don't say it, Rob!) and being congenitally unable to make friends or associate with other humans because you live in a country thousands of kilometres away from the one that he inhabits.

well you weren't exactly being polite and civil towards him either, were you? there are ways to request people use [OT] in the subject line, but starting the email with "JESUS FUCK A PIG" is perhaps not the best way to go about it. at least Rob was good enough to take it off-list

Oh goodness no, he's free to send whatever incoherently abusive and inadvertently-revealing private mails he wants to, as far as I'm concerned. I just think it's pathetic the way he refuses to learn how to use the list appropriately, and the way other people here indulge and support his antisocial behaviour on- and off-list for fear of losing access to his presumable pipeline of pirated material.* There's a reason why there's been a flame-slapfight every six months for the last four years about RM's posts to the list, and there's never been a single outbreak of criticism about the bloke who runs another FTP (er, an Olaf, maybe?), y'know? *inferring from his frequent requests for uploaded copies of in-print new releases, and curt refusals to purchase same when pointed to retail links.
Yes, I must say I'd noticed that it's not just KLF material Rob hosts on his server. While KLF stuff is probably a grey area, hosting a lot of current Orb and other material is just asking for a visit from the Men In Black... -----Original Message----- From: klf-bounces+chris=k23productions.com@mailman.xmission.com [mailto:klf-bounces+chris=k23productions.com@mailman.xmission.com] On Behalf Of Chris Sent: 30 November 2005 09:11 To: All bound for Mu-Mu Land. Although as long as the access (and the general information of the whole existence of server) is limited to a couple of pretty trivial mailing lists, and the server isn't really "professional", in the sense of piracy busts, the chance of getting caught is pretty much nil. Usually the "law enforcement" has better and more important things to do than to scour the net for minor breeches where nobody isn't even making any monetary profit. -j
