<piece of classical music?> Carmen Burana by Karl Orff. This is used in the Old Spice adverts. Also used on 'O Fortuna' by Apothesis.
That's "Carmina Burana" by Carl Orff. And it's the whole symphony that is called "Carmina Burana", while the first (and last) "song" (all the pieces were based on Latin poetry found in a monastery) is the most famous piece and is called "O Fortuna". It was probably first made famous to the masses in the movie "Excalibur".
A friend once told me that this song is about a roasting duck, so I looked it up, and sure enough verse 12 : Once I lived on lakes, once I looked beautiful when I was a swan. (Male chorus) Misery me! Now black and roasting fiercely! (Tenor) The servant is turning me on the spit; I am burning fiercely on the pyre: the steward now serves me up. (Male Chorus) Misery me! Now black and roasting fiercely! (Tenor) Now I lie on a plate, and cannot fly anymore, I see bared teeth: (Male Chorus) Misery me! Now black and roasting fiercely!
